GBI-Led Operation Nets 10 Arrests in Milledgeville Drug Sweep

After an extensive four-month joint investigation, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Middle Georgia Gang Task Force (GBI-MGGTF), alongside several state and local agencies, concluded a significant operation resulting in the arrest of 10 individuals in Milledgeville, Georgia. The coordinated effort involved the Georgia State Patrol, Georgia Department of Community Supervision, Georgia Department of Corrections, Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, Wilkinson County Sheriff’s Office, and Milledgeville Police Department.

The arrests occurred on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, targeting suspects involved in drug trafficking and sales within the area. Initially, six individuals were apprehended, with subsequent investigations leading to the arrest of four additional suspects on charges related to drugs and firearms violations.

Law enforcement executed multiple search warrants during the operation, seizing substantial evidence that included three handguns, three rifles, approximately one pound of suspected marijuana, around one ounce of suspected cocaine, one bottle of suspected codeine, and a modified handgun.

The individuals arrested and their charges are as follows:

    • Charged with Trafficking of Methamphetamine and Sale of Methamphetamine.
  2. Kirk Patrick Mosley, age 51, of Milledgeville, GA:
    • Charged with 2 counts of 1st Degree Arson.
  3. Trinity Amen Garcia, age 17, of Milledgeville, GA:
    • Charged with Trafficking Cocaine.
  4. Kayleigh Ann Larimore, age 19, of Milledgeville, GA:
    • Charged with Trafficking Cocaine.
  5. Charles Gene Cook, age 56, of Milledgeville, GA:
    • Charged with Sale of Methamphetamine.
  6. Crystal Monique Mitchell, age 39, of Milledgeville, GA:
    • Charged with 4 counts of Sale of Cocaine, Possession of Drug Related Objects, Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, and Possession of Firearm During the Commission of a Crime.
  7. Demontea Keshawn Bundrage, age 18, of Milledgeville, GA:
    • Charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, 3 counts of Possession of Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, Possession of Schedule V Substance, Possession of Drug Related Objects, and Tampering with Evidence.
  8. Javan Tashawn Mitchell, age 21, of Milledgeville, GA:
    • Charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, 3 counts of Possession of Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, Possession of Schedule V Substance, Possession of Drug Related Objects, and Tampering with Evidence.
  9. Davin Jamond Mitchell, age 22, of Milledgeville, GA:
    • Charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, 3 counts of Possession of Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, Possession of Schedule V Substance, Possession of Drug Related Objects, and Tampering with Evidence.
  10. Lucille Peggy Mitchell, age 63, of Milledgeville, GA:
    • Charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, 3 counts of Possession of Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, Possession of Schedule V Substance, Possession of Drug Related Objects, and Tampering with Evidence.

The operation aimed to dismantle drug distribution networks and curb gang-related activities in Central Georgia, with a focus on enhancing community safety and promoting lawful behavior. Authorities emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts among law enforcement agencies to achieve these objectives effectively.
