Polk County Police Seek Help in Missing Person Case

Polk County Police’s Criminal Investigation Division is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Mrs. Denise Goforth, a 61-year-old female. She was last seen on June 3, 2024, at approximately 3 PM at a gas station on Morgan Valley Road near Old Cedartown Road. Mrs. Goforth arrived and left the gas station on foot.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to contact Sgt. J. Raybun at 678-246-5129 or Polk County 911.

On Thursday, June 6, 2024, Polk County Police detectives discovered remains while searching along Morgan Valley Road. Although the location is the same area where Mrs. Goforth was last seen, authorities have not confirmed the identity of the body. Details on how the body ended up in the brush or how long it had been there are also unknown at this time.

The body has been sent to the GBI crime lab for further analysis.
