Suspect Arrested in Savannah Fatal Shooting on Dixon Street

The Savannah Police Department announced the arrest of Nazareth Thacker, 19, in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on June 4 in the 700 block of Dixon Street. Thacker has been charged with voluntary manslaughter.

Responding to reports of a shooting around 11:35 p.m., officers found an unresponsive victim at the scene. Despite receiving first aid, the victim succumbed to his injuries after being transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center. Thacker was apprehended on the morning of June 5.
