Atlanta Police Make Arrest in Peachtree Rd Lounge Shooting Case

Karanji Reese, aged 21, turned himself in to Atlanta Police on June 5, 2024. Reese faces charges including Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony. However, it’s important to note that an arrest doesn’t equate to guilt, as individuals are presumed innocent until proven otherwise in court.

The initial incident occurred on May 12, 2024, around 2:28 am, when officers responded to reports of gunfire at 2110 Peachtree Rd NW. Upon arrival, they found six individuals shot, two of whom were pronounced dead by Grady EMS at the scene. The remaining victims were taken to the hospital and have recovered.

Preliminary findings suggested that the shooting stemmed from a physical altercation at the location, escalating into gunfire.

Further investigation revealed that Nakyris Ridley was the intended target, with the other victims being bystanders.
