Atlanta Police Respond to Shooting Incident on Cascade Avenue

At approximately 10:39 a.m. today, officers from Atlanta Police Zone 4 responded to a report of a shooting at 687 Cascade Ave. SW. Upon arrival, they found an adult female victim who had sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was alert, conscious, and breathing, and was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

A possible suspect was detained at the scene by responding officers. Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim was involved in a physical dispute with a known suspect, which escalated to gunfire. Investigators from the Aggravated Assault Unit are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
