Fatal Collision on I-20 and I-285 Claims One Life

The Atlanta Police Accident Investigations Unit responded to a fatal traffic collision early Wednesday morning at I-20 Eastbound and I-285. The incident occurred around 12:10 a.m. involving a 2005 Ford Explorer and a 2013 Audi A4.

Upon arrival, officers found both vehicles with significant damage. The driver of the Audi A4 was unresponsive. Grady EMS arrived on the scene and attempted lifesaving measures, but the male driver was pronounced deceased.

Three of the five male passengers in the Ford Explorer were transported to the hospital for treatment. Preliminary investigations suggest the Explorer was disabled and stopped on the right-hand beam when the Audi collided into its rear.

The Atlanta Police Accident Investigations Unit is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
