Suspect Arrested in Macon Youth Ball Game Shooting Incident
An arrest has been made in connection with an aggravated assault investigation which occurred at Bloomfield Park located at 1821 Rocky Creek Road in Macon.
The incident was called into the Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center at 6:09 p.m., on Monday, May 20, 2024. Witnesses reported to Deputies that a verbal altercation escalated between two males during a youth ball game.
Moments later one of the men began firing shots towards the other male where children were present. An adult male was grazed in the shoulder area as a result of the actions of suspect. He was not the intended target of the suspect who then fled the scene. The male victim sustained non life threatening injuries. No one else was harmed as a result of the incident.
During the investigation, the suspect was identified as thirty-five-year-old Marquize Hogan of Macon. Investigators secured warrants for Hogan’s arrest.
On Wednesday, May 22, 2024, just before 3:00 p.m., the U.S. Marshal’s Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force took Marquize Hogan into custody without incident. He was then transported to Investigations Headquarters.
After further investigation, Hogan was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. Marquize Hogan faces 30 counts of Aggravated Assault. He currently does not have a bond.
