Fatal Collision in Norcross Leaves Two Dead, Two Injured
Gwinnett County Police Department is investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred in unincorporated Norcross, leaving two dead and two severely injured.
The incident took place just after 1:30 p.m. on May 19 at the intersection of Buford Highway and South Peachtree Street. Initial reports suggest that the driver of a red Volvo XC60 attempted to make a right turn from South Peachtree Street onto Buford Highway, crossing paths with a black Toyota Sienna and triggering a collision.
Due to the seriousness of the injuries, the Accident Investigation Unit was called to the scene. Four individuals involved were rushed to local hospitals, with two in critical condition.
Tragically, both the driver and passenger of the Volvo, identified as Jill Swenson (73 years old) and William Brown (74 years old), respectively, succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. Their families have been notified.
The driver and passenger of the Toyota are still receiving medical treatment for their injuries.
