Atlanta PD Releases 911 Call and Body Cam Footage Capturing Arrest of Vacant Home Burglar

On March 28, 2024, the E911 Communications Center received a call from a caller who advised that a person had broken into the vacant home next door.

While the dispatcher was gathering information, the location of the incident was not showing to exist. The dispatcher quickly learned that the location was newly constructed.

Due to not being able to find the address, the dispatcher sent a link to the caller’s phone and was able to get a more precise location.

A short time later, Atlanta Zone 6 Officers arrived at the scene and contacted the caller. The officers later observed a broken glass door.

Officers went inside to clear the vacant home and while doing so, they located a male suspect inside the closet. The male suspect was identified as Declarence McGhee. He was charged with Criminal Damage to Property and transported to the Fulton County Jail.
