Peachtree Corners Man Arrested in Armed Robbery of U-Haul Truck
A Peachtree Corners man has been arrested following an armed robbery involving a U-Haul truck in Norcross.
On April 21, around 4:00 a.m., officers from the West Precinct responded to a call regarding an armed robbery at 6218 Dawson Blvd in unincorporated Norcross. According to the victim, an unidentified masked individual brandishing a firearm approached him and demanded his possessions, including the U-Haul truck he was driving. Fearing for his safety, the victim complied with the demands.
After the incident, the suspect was observed fleeing the scene towards Jimmy Carter Blvd. The victim, whose cell phone was taken during the robbery, sought assistance from a passerby to contact 911.
The following day, utilizing FLOCK cameras, officers located the stolen U-Haul truck at a convenience store on Peachtree Corners Circle in Peachtree Corners. Subsequently, officers apprehended the suspect and another individual at approximately 12:15 a.m. During the arrest, officers discovered evidence related to the initial robbery inside the vehicle.
Tyler Xavier Harrison, 30 years old from Peachtree Corners, was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of Certain Crimes, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Methamphetamine, and driving on a suspended license. Harrison was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail. The second individual detained was not charged.
