Pearson Man Arrested for Murder of 27-year-old Male

On Wednesday, May 1, 2024, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) arrested and charged Pablo Miranda, 32, from Pearson, Georgia, with Malice Murder, Felony Murder, and Aggravated Assault in connection to the death of Johan Romero, 27, also from Pearson, GA.

The arrest follows a death investigation initiated by the Atkinson County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. The investigation was launched after a 911 call reported an unresponsive man found in a car on Wright Road in Axson, Atkinson County, Georgia. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Romero deceased in the vehicle with gunshot wounds. Physical evidence recovered at the scene and information obtained during interviews pointed to Miranda as a suspect.

In the course of the investigation, law enforcement officials executed a search warrant at a residence on Bullard Avenue in Pearson, Georgia. Miranda was subsequently taken into custody and booked into the Atkinson County Jail.

Assisting in the execution of the search warrant and arrest were the Atkinson County Sheriff’s Office, the Willacoochee Police Department, and the Pearson Police Department.
