Atlanta Police Apprehend Suspects After Shooting Incident Near DH Stanton Park

In the early hours of May 3, 2024, Atlanta Police responded to a report of a shooting at 1041 Martin St. in the Peoplestown area near DH Stanton Park.

Upon arrival, officers found a male victim with a gunshot wound. He was conscious and breathing and was taken to the hospital.

Initial findings suggest that the victim was involved in a verbal altercation with three male suspects over narcotics and a dog. The situation escalated to gunfire, resulting in the victim being shot. The suspects reportedly fled towards Hank Aaron Drive in a box truck.

Police located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, apprehending all three suspects. A firearm and multiple narcotics were recovered from the truck. Charges are pending as the investigation progresses.
