Arrest Made in Connection with Aggravated Assault and Arson Incident on Log Cabin Drive

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Deputies have arrested a suspect in connection with an aggravated assault investigation at a residence on Log Cabin Drive. The incident, which occurred on April 21, 2024, at 11:37 a.m., prompted a response from Patrol Deputies and the Macon Bibb Fire Department following a call for assistance to the Macon Bibb E-911 Center.

Upon arrival, responders found a 25-year-old female outside the residence with gasoline on her clothing and face, and a fire set inside the house. The fire was promptly extinguished, and the victim was treated at the scene by paramedics and cleared. No one else was injured.

After investigation, 53-year-old Kimberly Lashawn Brooks was identified as the suspect and subsequently taken into custody. Brooks faces charges of Aggravated Assault and First Degree Arson, with her bond being denied.
