Pregnant Teen Among Two Injured in Shooting at Park Gathering in Atlanta

Late last night, at approximately 11:10 PM, Atlanta Police officers responded to a distress call reporting gunfire at 1935 Compton Dr. SE. in Lakewood Heights.

Upon arrival, officers found a 51-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. Grady EMS attended the scene, transporting the injured male to the hospital for urgent medical care.

As officers surveyed the area, they were informed of a second victim, a 17-year-old pregnant female, who had been privately transported to Grady for treatment. Investigators later confirmed she had suffered a gunshot wound.

Initial findings suggest that both victims were attending a family gathering at a nearby park when unidentified suspects, traveling in a vehicle, arrived at the park entrance and began firing indiscriminately towards the gathering. The motive behind the attack remains under investigation.

Authorities are actively working to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
