Multi-Jurisdictional Pursuit Ends in Warner Robins Crash Following Suspect Evasion

At 3:55 pm on Monday, April 8, 2024, the Houston County 911 Center issued a broadcast to Warner Robins Police Units, alerting them that a vehicle pursuit involving the Peach County Sheriff’s Office was entering their jurisdiction. The pursuit stemmed from Peach County Sheriff deputies’ recognition of the driver of a vehicle at a convenience store near Highway 41 in Peach County. The driver was identified as 33-year-old Daniel Coker, who had outstanding warrants for possession of methamphetamines in Putnam County and felony fleeing and attempting to elude warrant in Bibb County.

Upon deputies’ approach, Coker evaded capture by jumping into his car and speeding away, prompting law enforcement to initiate pursuit measures. While the Warner Robins Police Department (WRPD) units and Houston County Sheriff Deputies responded to the area to provide assistance, they were not actively engaged in the pursuit.

The pursuit concluded at the intersection of S. Davis Dr. and Russell Pkwy in Warner Robins when the suspect vehicle crashed. The extent of injuries sustained in the crash remains unknown at this time. However, the driver involved, Daniel Coker, was transported to Houston Health Care-Warner Robins for treatment.

Following the crash, the Georgia State Patrol was dispatched to conduct an investigation into the accident.
