Atlanta Police Investigate Exchange of Gunfire Leaving One Injured
On April 8, 2024, at around 7:08 p.m., Atlanta Police Zone 3 officers swiftly responded to a distress call reporting a shooting near 1092 Regent St. SW. Upon reaching the location, officers discovered a 48-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite his injuries, the victim remained conscious and alert. He was transported to the hospital via ambulance for medical attention.
Initial inquiries suggest that the victim was involved in a gunfire exchange with a suspect, resulting in his injury. Prompt action by responding officers led to the apprehension of a potential suspect in close proximity to the scene.
Following standard procedures, investigators from the Aggravated Assault Unit were dispatched to the location to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
