Man Dead and Woman in Critical Condition After Shooting at Bloomfield Townhomes in Macon

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a shooting incident that took place at a residence within Bloomfield Townhomes on 4995 Bloomfield Road. The event unfolded just after 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.

The E-911 Center received a call at 3:02 p.m. reporting the shooting. Deputies responded to the scene and found a 22-year-old female and a 48-year-old male with gunshot wounds. Paramedics were called in and transported both victims to a medical facility for urgent treatment. No other individuals were harmed during the incident.

Medical staff confirmed that the 48-year-old male succumbed to his injuries at the medical facility. His identity remains undisclosed pending notification of his next of kin. The 22-year-old female is currently listed in critical condition.
