GBI Investigates Fatal Shooting in Woodbury Parking Lot

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is currently looking into the death of Jaylen Jamal McGruder, a 22-year-old from Pine Mountain, Georgia, following a shooting incident. The Woodbury Police Department requested GBI’s involvement in the investigation.

According to initial reports, the incident occurred around 9:40 p.m. when the Woodbury Police Department responded to a shooting incident in a parking lot behind a liquor store on Highway 85 in Woodbury. A fight among a large group of people escalated into gunfire, with several individuals firing shots. McGruder was among those shot during the altercation.

Emergency services rushed McGruder to a local hospital in Thomaston, where he succumbed to his injuries.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
