Atlanta Police Investigate Shooting and Robbery in Southwest Atlanta

On March 28th, 2024, at around 10:38 PM, Atlanta Police officers responded to reports of a shooting at the intersection of Mount Gilead Road SW and Valley Ridge Drive SW in southwest Atlanta. Upon reaching the scene, officers discovered a 26-year-old male who had suffered a gunshot wound to his left leg. Despite the injury, the victim remained conscious and alert. He was transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

Initial inquiries suggest that the incident stemmed from a robbery, with the male becoming the unfortunate target. The suspect managed to flee the scene before law enforcement arrived, leaving authorities to piece together the events leading up to the shooting.

In response to the situation, investigators from the Aggravated Assault Unit mobilized to the location to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident. As of now, the investigation remains ongoing as authorities work diligently to gather more information and identify the perpetrator.
