Arrest Made in Tifton Shooting Death Investigation

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested and charged Wayne Doyle, 38, of Tifton, GA, in connection with the death of Anzley Gandy, 39, also of Tifton. Doyle faces charges including Malice Murder, Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Attempted Removal of a Weapon from an Officer, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. The Tift County Sheriff’s Office requested GBI’s involvement in the investigation.

According to reports, Tift County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call on West 21st Street, Tifton, GA, where they found one person deceased and another with a gunshot wound. Gandy was pronounced dead at the scene, while the injured individual was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

An autopsy on Gandy will be conducted at the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office in the Central Regional Lab.

Doyle was apprehended at the scene and subsequently booked into the Tift County Jail.

UPDATE – April 4, 2024: The second victim that was taken to the hospital died on Friday, March 29, 2024. He has been identified as Adam Tyler Fall, age 31, of Tifton, GA.
