Cordele Police Respond to Two Shootings Resulting in Multiple Injuries and Deaths

On the evening of March 23rd, 2024, the Cordele Police Department was called to respond to two separate shootings that took place on Saturday night, resulting in multiple injuries and fatalities.

The first incident occurred, leaving a female victim wounded. She was transported to Crisp Regional Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The second shooting unfolded in the parking lot of Quick Mart, situated in the 500th block of West 16th Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered two adult males, identified as forty-nine-year-old Ben Foreman and twenty-seven-year-old Christopher King, both suffering from critical injuries sustained during the shooting. Both victims were pronounced deceased at the scene.

In light of these events, the Cordele Police Department has enlisted the assistance of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) to aid in the ongoing investigation. Detectives from the Cordele Police Department are collaborating with the GBI to identify the individual(s) responsible for the shootings.

The Cordele Police Department expressed gratitude to various agencies, including the GBI, Georgia State Patrol, Crisp County EMS, and the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office, for their support during this challenging time.
