Gas Line Rupture Prompts Evacuations and Road Closures in Atlanta

On Monday, March 25, 2024, around 10:00 a.m., the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department (AFRD) was called to Campbellton Road SW at Dodson Drive SW due to a ruptured underground gas line caused by construction work.

Firefighters have closed off Campbellton Road from Harbin Road to Marvin Lane and Dodson Drive from Ivydale to Landrum. Seven nearby buildings, including one apartment complex, have been evacuated.

Firefighters are currently at the scene.
