Altercation Over Drugs Leads to Shooting in South Atlanta
On the evening of March 24th, 2024, at approximately 9:50 PM, Atlanta Police officers responded to a distress call at 1267 Martin St SE in South Atlanta regarding a male individual who had been shot. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg.
The victim was found to be alert, conscious, and breathing. He was transported to the hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
Initial investigations suggest that the male victim had been armed while forcefully knocking on the front door of the residence, allegedly demanding narcotics. He forcibly entered the premises, leading to a physical altercation with the occupant of the home. The altercation culminated in the victim sustaining a gunshot wound to his leg.
Law enforcement units later located the injured male individual in the vicinity of the incident. He was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment and is reported to be in stable condition. Arrest charges are pending as the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
