Dunwoody Man Arrested After Shooting Grandmother

On March 24, 2024, at 9:55 pm, Dunwoody Police Officers responded to a call at 3014 Perimeter Trace reporting a person shot.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 62-year-old female victim with a single gunshot wound. The victim’s grandson, 23-year-old Erick Beasley, allegedly shot her in the upper chest following a brief verbal altercation. Beasley fled the scene immediately after the incident. Approximately an hour later, officers located Beasley in the vicinity and arrested him without any further issues.

Beasley has been taken into custody and was transported to the Dekalb County Jail. He faces charges of Aggravated Assault – Family Violence and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.

The victim was transported to the hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
