Fatal Shooting Leaves Woman Dead, Man Critical: Columbus Police Investigate

Columbus Police responded to a shooting incident on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 1:49 p.m. in the 2500 block of Schaul Street.

Upon arrival, officers found a woman, later identified as Shantavia Walden, deceased from a gunshot wound. Another victim, identified as Gerald Ford, was also found at the scene with gunshot wounds. Ford was rushed to Piedmont Hospital and is currently listed in critical condition.

The Violent Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation.
