Father and Daughter Arrested for Fatal Shooting at Belle Vista Apartments in Lithonia

Officers apprehended a father and daughter duo following a fatal shooting at Belle Vista apartments on February 28, 2024. According to police reports, the incident unfolded just before 3:00 PM after an argument between the couple, 25-year-old Nina Shaw and her boyfriend, 25-year-old Treyvon Vallery.

In response to the altercation, Nina called her father, 47-year-old Royricas Shaw, who promptly arrived at the apartment complex. Tensions escalated as Royricas engaged in a dispute with Vallery, ultimately leading to gunfire. Royricas discharged his weapon but missed Vallery, who retaliated by firing back, injuring Royricas in the hip.

In the heat of the moment, Nina also fired her weapon, striking Vallery multiple times. Vallery succumbed to his injuries and was decleared deceased.

Following the incident, officers took Royricas and Nina into custody and transported them to the DeKalb County Jail. They are now facing malice murder charges in connection with the shooting.
