Bibb County School District Holding Teacher Recruitment Fair

The Bibb County School District (BCSD) has scheduled a recruitment fair for Saturday, March 2, 2024, from 9 to 11 am.

Many school districts are struggling to find qualified teachers. A national research revealed that Georgia experienced high number of vacancies after the COVID pandemic. Statewide, the report said Georgia was in need of at least 3,000 new teachers.

BCSD wants to keep the graduation rate at the high levels reported for 2023. The class of 2023 graduation rate increased to 87% from 80% in 2022. The increase was significant as it was above the state’s graduation rate.

The school district hopes that these numbers attract talent back to the Bibb County area.
