Aggravated Assault Investigated in Bibb County

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an aggravated assault incident that took place in the 500 block of Ell Street, just before 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 26th.

According to reports, at 6:52 p.m., a call was received by the E-911 Dispatch Center regarding shots fired in the area.

Deputies responded to the scene and found a 39-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound. Paramedics arrived and transported the injured individual to Atrium Health Navicent for urgent medical care. He is reported to be in critical condition. There were no additional injuries reported in connection with the incident.

Authorities are actively working to establish the circumstances leading up to the assault.
