Former Tift County High School Principal Arrested for Financial Misconduct

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested and charged Chad Stone, 50, of Tifton, GA, with theft by taking and unauthorized use of a financial transaction card, along with misuse of government-issued cards. The Tifton Police Department requested the GBI’s assistance on February 6, 2024.

Investigations revealed that Stone, while serving as the Principal of Tift County High School, misused school credit cards and made unauthorized purchases. He tendered his resignation from his position on February 12, 2024, around 12 p.m.

Stone surrendered himself to the Tift County Jail on February 21, 2024.
