Atlanta SWAT Locates Home Intruder Hiding in Attic

On February 20th, 2024, at approximately 3:48 pm, officers from the APD A.P.E.X. unit (Atlanta Proactive Enforcement and Interdiction) were conducting an investigation in the vicinity of 1123 Osborne St SW, targeting a suspect wanted for aggravated assault, identified as Jermaine Sutton.

Upon their arrival, officers spotted Sutton along with several other individuals at the location, who attempted to flee on foot. During the pursuit, one of the suspects, identified as 25-year-old Tyrelle Blake, broke into a nearby residence by prying open a window and entering the premises.

Police established a perimeter around the house and alerted the homeowner about the intruder, advising them not to enter until the situation was resolved. Subsequently, APD SWAT was called in and a search warrant, approved by a City of Atlanta judge, was obtained for both 1123 Osborne St SW and 112 Birch St SW.

SWAT officers conducted a search of the premises and successfully located Blake hiding in the attic of the residence at 112 Birch St SW.

Blake was arrested and charged with Criminal Trespass, Obstruction, and providing false information to law enforcement. He was then transported to Fulton County Jail without further incident.

Meanwhile, officers searched and cleared the location at 1123 Osborne St SW, where they discovered multiple firearms and illegal narcotics. However, the primary suspect, Jermaine Sutton, was not found at the scene and is still at large as the investigation continues.
