In a continued effort to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of Cortavius Hassan Ates, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Gang Unit, along with support from the Strategic Intelligence Unit, Drug Unit, and Special Response Team, has apprehended twenty-nine-year-old Marion Antonio Curry of Macon.

Curry, wanted in Bibb County for Aggravated Assault, emerged as a person of interest in the case involving Ates, whose demise occurred on February 10, 2024.

Authorities located Curry at a residence within the 2300 block of Ollie Drive while executing a search warrant. Following his apprehension, Curry was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Headquarters. Subsequent investigations led to his transfer to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.

Marion Antonio Curry now faces charges of Criminal Street Gang Activity, Aggravated Assault, and Murder. His warrant for Aggravated Assault has been served, and he is currently being held without bond.

The incident remains the subject of an ongoing investigation, with updates to be disseminated as they emerge.

Yesterday, Kendarrious Rayshun Cone of Macon was also taken into custody on Murder charges.
