Authorities Arrest Macon Man in Connection to Murder Case

Authorities from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Gang Unit, along with support from the Strategic Intelligence Unit, Drug Unit, Special Response Team, and Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office, have apprehended Kendarrious Rayshun Cone, a 30-year-old resident of Macon.

Cone was sought in connection to the death of Cortavius Hassan Ates on February 10, 2024. He was captured in Twiggs County and was taken into custody at the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Headquarters. Following further inquiry, Cone was transferred to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.

Kendarrious Rayshun Cone is charged with Conspiracy to Distribute Marijuana, Aggravated Assault, and Murder, and is being held without bond. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities explore potential additional charges.
