Bibb County Authorities Execute Operation Clean House, Apprehend Top Gang Members
On February 8, 2024, multiple law enforcement units collaborated in Bibb County to execute Operation Clean House, targeting top gang members under the Department of Community Supervision. The operation, led by Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Gang Unit along with Special Response Team, Special Investigations Unit, Georgia Bureau of Investigation Gang Task Force, and Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, resulted in the successful apprehension of seven individuals.
During the operation, strategically planned arrest warrants were executed in specific locations leading to the arrest of the wanted individuals. Among those taken into custody were Jawarren James Balkcom, Charles Antonio Balthrop, Tyrik Juwan Carswell, George Devin Dawson, Sylvester Dugger Jr., Demartez Lashawn Little, and Santez Deshawn Mattox. All arrests were related to Violation of Probation charges, with additional charges pending against them.
Items recovered during the operation included three firearms, with one reported stolen, along with quantities of marijuana and cocaine. Balthrop faces a range of charges including Trafficking Cocaine and Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, among others.
The operation was carried out smoothly without any incident, marking a successful collaborative effort among various law enforcement agencies to address gang-related activities in Bibb County.
