US Marshals Apprehend Armed Robbery Suspect in College Park, Georgia, Raid

On January 23, 2024, the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force (SERFTF) collaborated with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office to capture Kobe Griffin, 20, wanted for armed robbery in College Park, Georgia. Griffin allegedly brandished a firearm during the December 19, 2023, robbery at a BP gas station.

Griffin, known for prior violent offenses, including weapons, assault, and narcotics charges, was tracked to an apartment complex on Godby Road in College Park. With information gathered from social media, investigators located Griffin and apprehended him with the help of SWAT teams.

During the operation, authorities seized an AK-47 rifle, two 9mm handguns, ammunition, magazines, illegal narcotics, and $5,836 in cash from Griffin’s apartment. Griffin was transported to the College Park Police Department for processing.

The USMS SERFTF, operational since June 2003, partners with numerous federal, state, and local agencies to pursue fugitives across Georgia. Having apprehended over 44,000 fugitives since its establishment, the SERFTF continues its mission to enhance community safety.
