Collision Under Investigation on Pio Nono Avenue at Rocky Creek Road in Macon

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a traffic collision that took place just after 3:30 p.m. on December 17, 2023, at the intersection of Pio Nono Avenue and Rocky Creek Road.

According to initial reports, a 51-year-old female from Macon was driving a Nissan Sentra south on Pio Nono Avenue when she attempted to make a left turn at a red light towards Rocky Creek Road. The Nissan was struck by a northbound Honda CRV, driven by a 31-year-old male also from Macon.

Emergency services promptly responded to the scene, and both drivers were transported to Atrium Health for medical attention. The female driver is currently listed in critical condition, while the male driver received treatment for reported injuries. No other individuals were harmed during the incident.
