Vehicle Theft Suspect Found in Jeep with Gunshot Wound to the Head in Atlanta, Later Dies

At approximately 3:41 a.m., Atlanta Police officers responded to a report of a shooting at 507 Bishop St. Upon arrival, they found a male victim seated in the driver’s side of a gray Jeep in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was not alert or conscious but was breathing and was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim may have been involved in multiple vehicle larcenies at 3334 Peachtree Rd. After arriving at 507 Bishop St, where two more vehicles appeared to have been broken into, an unknown suspect allegedly fired multiple shots at the victim, hitting him.

The victim, who had been in critical condition, later died from his injuries. The case is now being investigated as a homicide. Investigators are actively working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
