Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office Seizes Drugs, Weapons, and Stolen Vehicle; Two Arrested
On July 26, 2024, the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Unit executed multiple search warrants resulting from a narcotics and fugitive investigation. The search revealed the following items:
- One 7.62 caliber rifle
- Two semi-automatic handguns
- 31.1 grams of Fentanyl valued at $3,110.00
- 27.2 grams of Cocaine valued at $2,720.00
- 3.2 lbs of Marijuana valued at $14,500.00
- 494.7 grams of Psilocybin (mushrooms) valued at $7,420.50
- 147 Xanax tablets valued at $1,470.00
- 239 tablets of Hydrocodone valued at $2,390.00
- $2,346.00 in United States Currency
- One 2013 Dodge Challenger stolen out of Meriwether County
As a result of the investigation, Jayla Howell and Jonathan Williams were arrested and charged with the following:
Jayla Howell:
- Felony Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime – 3 counts
- Felony Trafficking Fentanyl
- Felony Trafficking Psilocybin
- Felony Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute
- Felony Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
- Felony Possession of a Schedule II Drug (Xanax) with Intent to Distribute
- Felony Possession of a Schedule II Drug (Hydrocodone) with Intent to Distribute
- Felony Theft by Receiving Stolen Property – Motor Vehicle
Jonathan Williams:
- Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon – 3 counts
- Felony Trafficking Fentanyl
- Felony Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime – 3 counts
- Felony Trafficking Psilocybin
- Felony Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute
- Felony Theft by Receiving Stolen Property – Motor Vehicle
- Felony Possession of a Schedule II Drug (Xanax) with Intent to Distribute
- Felony Possession of a Schedule II Drug (Hydrocodone) with Intent to Distribute
- Felony Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
Jonathan Williams also had outstanding warrants with the Russell County Sheriff’s Office and the Phenix City Police Department for the following:
- Attempting to Elude
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
- Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree
- Leaving the Scene of an Accident
- Reckless Endangerment
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Domestic Violence 3rd Degree
Both Jayla Howell and Jonathan Williams were transported to the Muscogee County Jail without incident.
