Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office Seizes Drugs, Weapons, and Stolen Vehicle; Two Arrested

On July 26, 2024, the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Unit executed multiple search warrants resulting from a narcotics and fugitive investigation. The search revealed the following items:

  1. One 7.62 caliber rifle
  2. Two semi-automatic handguns
  3. 31.1 grams of Fentanyl valued at $3,110.00
  4. 27.2 grams of Cocaine valued at $2,720.00
  5. 3.2 lbs of Marijuana valued at $14,500.00
  6. 494.7 grams of Psilocybin (mushrooms) valued at $7,420.50
  7. 147 Xanax tablets valued at $1,470.00
  8. 239 tablets of Hydrocodone valued at $2,390.00
  9. $2,346.00 in United States Currency
  10. One 2013 Dodge Challenger stolen out of Meriwether County

As a result of the investigation, Jayla Howell and Jonathan Williams were arrested and charged with the following:

Jayla Howell:

  1. Felony Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime – 3 counts
  2. Felony Trafficking Fentanyl
  3. Felony Trafficking Psilocybin
  4. Felony Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute
  5. Felony Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
  6. Felony Possession of a Schedule II Drug (Xanax) with Intent to Distribute
  7. Felony Possession of a Schedule II Drug (Hydrocodone) with Intent to Distribute
  8. Felony Theft by Receiving Stolen Property – Motor Vehicle

Jonathan Williams:

  1. Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon – 3 counts
  2. Felony Trafficking Fentanyl
  3. Felony Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime – 3 counts
  4. Felony Trafficking Psilocybin
  5. Felony Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute
  6. Felony Theft by Receiving Stolen Property – Motor Vehicle
  7. Felony Possession of a Schedule II Drug (Xanax) with Intent to Distribute
  8. Felony Possession of a Schedule II Drug (Hydrocodone) with Intent to Distribute
  9. Felony Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute

Jonathan Williams also had outstanding warrants with the Russell County Sheriff’s Office and the Phenix City Police Department for the following:

  1. Attempting to Elude
  2. Possession of a Controlled Substance
  3. Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree
  4. Leaving the Scene of an Accident
  5. Reckless Endangerment
  6. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  7. Domestic Violence 3rd Degree

Both Jayla Howell and Jonathan Williams were transported to the Muscogee County Jail without incident.
