Chatham County Police Seek Suspects in Family Dollar Scam
The Chatham County Police Department is actively searching for two individuals suspected of scamming a store clerk at the Family Dollar Store on 7360 Skidaway Road. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on June 12, 2024.
Surveillance cameras captured the suspects distracting the clerk and manipulating the cash register to authorize a fraudulent transaction. Police believe Family Dollar stores may be specifically targeted but are urging all business owners and cash register operators to remain vigilant.
Detectives are working to identify the suspects from the surveillance photos. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the police.
