Three Clayton County Murder Suspects Captured in One Day
In a significant breakthrough, three murder suspects were apprehended in a single day, Sheriff Levon Allen announced. The first suspect, Montevious Garrison, wanted for a fatal shooting at a Family Dollar store, was captured. Two other suspects, Saisha Gibson and Jason Jefferson, implicated in separate a murder case were also arrested.
On February 2, 2024, Clayton County Police responded to a shooting at the Family Dollar located at 5425 Riverdale. They found the victim deceased with multiple gunshot wounds. Following an investigation led by Chief Kevin Roberts, Montevious Garrison was identified as the suspect. Arrest warrants for Garrison included charges of murder during the commission of a felony, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm, and reckless conduct. Sheriff Allen placed Garrison at the top of his Most Wanted List and activated the Elite Fugitive Unit to locate him.
Garrison was captured by the Newnan Police Department while responding to a suspicious person call. He was found in possession of a dangerous weapon and taken into custody without incident. Garrison is currently held at Coweta County Jail, awaiting transport to Clayton County.
On April 30, 2024, Clayton County Police responded to another shooting in Riverdale, discovering a victim with gunshot wounds and significant blood loss in a residence. Saisha Gibson and Jason Jefferson were identified as suspects. Warrants were issued for their arrest on charges of felony murder, aggravated assault, and home invasion. They were also placed on the Most Wanted List.
Through a collaborative effort with the US Marshall’s Service South Regional Fugitive Task Force (SERFTF) and the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, Gibson and Jefferson were located and arrested without incident. They are currently held at Clayton County Jail, awaiting their court date.
Sheriff Allen expressed gratitude for the coordinated efforts of the Clayton County Police Department, Newnan Police Department, US Marshall’s Service, DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, and Coweta County Sheriff’s Office in apprehending these dangerous suspects.
