Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigates Alleyway Death as Homicide

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a man found in an alleyway on First Street Lane. The incident was reported to the Macon-Bibb County E-911 Center at 11:47 a.m. on Sunday, May 26, 2024.

The victim, identified as 59-year-old Albert Kenneth Knight, was discovered deceased with a severe head wound. Investigators determined that Knight had been struck multiple times in the head, leading to his death. The case is being treated as a homicide.

Coroner Leon Jones confirmed that Knight’s next of kin has been notified. The body will be transported to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy.

UPDATE: The suspect is a white male with glasses, wearing a ball cap, a green shirt that possibly says “Hilton Head Island Bike Shop” in white letters, denims jeans and black shoes.
