Shooting Incident at Rodney Cook Senior Park Under Investigation

On Sunday, April 28, 2024, at around 1:55AM, Atlanta police officers rushed to Rodney Cook Senior Park situated at 616 Joseph E. Boone Boulevard NW following reports of a shooting.

Upon reaching the scene, authorities found a 22-year-old male with apparent gunshot wounds to his left arm and abdomen. Though the victim was not fully conscious, he was breathing and responsive. Emergency services transported him to the hospital for medical attention.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the assailant fled the area immediately after the shooting occurred.

In response to the incident, the Major Crimes Response Team dispatched investigators to the scene to ascertain the details surrounding the event. Presently, the investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to uncover more information about the circumstances leading to the shooting.
