Atlanta Police Charge 15-Year-Old in Bent Creek Way Shooting

Atlanta police have charged a 15-year-old boy in connection with a shooting at 1994 Bent Creek Way SW, according to an update the department posted Friday.
Police said officers detained the suspect at the scene. The department did not release the boy’s name because he is a juvenile.
The teen was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The department’s update lists at least one additional weapons-related charge, but the posted text cuts off before it names the remaining counts.
The Atlanta Police Department labeled the original incident “Person Shot.” The update does not say who was shot, how badly the person was hurt or what led to the gunfire.
Charges are accusations, and the court process will decide the case. Police have not said when the shooting happened or whether they are looking for other suspects.
