Man Found Dead Near CSX Rail Yard in Thomasville, GBI Investigating

THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating after a man was found dead near a CSX rail yard in Thomasville.

Thomasville police responded around 10 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, to a report of an unresponsive person near the rail yard on West Clay Street.

Officers found a man at the location, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not released the man’s identity or disclosed whether investigators found signs of trauma. The GBI said the body will be taken to its Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.

No arrests have been made.

The Thomasville Police Department requested assistance from the GBI, which is handling the investigation.
