Camden County Traffic Stop on I-95 Leads to Large Marijuana and THC Seizure

CAMDEN COUNTY, Ga. – A traffic stop on Interstate 95 led Camden County deputies to seize a large quantity of marijuana and THC products, including more than 100 pre-rolled marijuana cigarettes, THC edibles and vape products.

The stop occurred early Aug. 19 after Camden County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Lasko noticed a vehicle that appeared to be speeding while traveling southbound on I-95.

After stopping the vehicle, the deputy approached and noticed that both the driver and passenger appeared nervous, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputy Lasko also reported smelling a strong odor of marijuana inside the vehicle along with the scent of an air freshener.

Sergeant Goodin and Deputies Burch and Rivera responded to assist with a search of the vehicle.

Deputies Seize Edibles, Vapes and Marijuana

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies seized 28 bags of THC lozenges, 16 bags of THC gummies, 17 THC vapes and 138 marijuana pre-rolls.

Authorities also reported finding 10 bags or jars containing marijuana buds and two additional Mason jars containing marijuana, including buds and loose ground marijuana or “shake.”

Two containers of THC lotion were also seized.

The sheriff’s office did not provide an estimated total weight or street value for the marijuana and THC products.

The driver, whose identity was not released in the department’s announcement, was charged with Possession of Marijuana Over One Ounce and cited for speeding. The driver was transported to the Camden County Public Safety Complex.

The sheriff’s office did not announce charges against the passenger.
