Brother Charged With Kidnapping After Forcing Sister Into Car in Macon

MACON, Ga. – A 20-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman were arrested Saturday after Bibb County deputies investigated the alleged kidnapping of an 18-year-old woman from a residence in Macon.

Deputies with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office responded at approximately 10:38 a.m. on July 25 to a reported disturbance at a home in the 1400 block of Conestoga Trail.

According to investigators, Patrick Hines Jr. unlawfully entered the residence and forcibly removed his 18-year-old sister before placing her into a red four-door sedan parked outside.

Authorities said the suspect was confronted by the victim’s grandmother, who is also her legal guardian. During the confrontation, the victim was able to escape from the vehicle and run back to her grandmother.

As deputies continued their investigation, they attempted to take Hines into custody.

Investigators said Angel Aaliyah Sims, 18, exited the sedan and interfered with deputies as they attempted to arrest Hines. Both Hines and Sims were taken into custody and transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.

Hines has been charged with kidnapping, first-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Sims has been charged with kidnapping and misdemeanor obstruction of a law enforcement officer. Investigators also said she was wanted in Bibb County on an outstanding warrant for terroristic threats and acts.

Both suspects remain in custody at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center on bond.
