Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle on Gray Highway in Macon
MACON, Ga. – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a pedestrian early Tuesday morning on Gray Highway.
Deputies responded just before 3:45 a.m. to Gray Highway near the intersection of Boulevard after receiving reports of a vehicle striking a pedestrian.
According to investigators, a 20-year-old man driving a gray Nissan struck a 36-year-old man who was crossing the roadway while wearing dark clothing.
When deputies arrived, they found the pedestrian unresponsive.
The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries, according to medical staff.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said the victim’s identity will be released after next of kin have been notified.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation, and additional information is expected to be released as it becomes available.
