Two Charged With Murder After Body Found in Douglas County Reservoir Identified

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. — Two people have been charged with murder following the identification of a man whose body was recovered from a Douglas County reservoir last month.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, an unidentified deceased male was recovered from the Dog River Reservoir along Highway 166 on May 15, 2026.

Investigators worked with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to identify the victim. On June 15, the GBI positively identified the man as 37-year-old Jamal Parker of Atlanta through DNA comparison.

As the investigation progressed, authorities developed evidence linking two individuals to Parker’s death.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrests of Brittany Amber Baker and Mario Andre Barber in connection with the case. Both have been charged with Murder.

Investigators have not released details regarding the circumstances surrounding Parker’s death or how his body came to be in the reservoir.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
