DULUTH, Ga. — A man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash that left a motorcyclist critically injured early Friday morning, according to Duluth police.

Officers responded around 2:40 a.m. on April 10, 2026, to a reported collision involving a motorcycle and an unknown vehicle on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard near Longlake Drive.

When officers arrived, they found the motorcycle rider seriously injured. The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

Due to the severity of the crash, the department’s Accident Investigation Unit and Crime Scene Investigations personnel responded to assist with the case.

While investigators processed the scene, the department’s Real-Time Crime Center reviewed camera footage from across the city. Authorities said the footage helped identify and track the suspect vehicle as it left the area and traveled to a nearby apartment complex.

Police later located the vehicle, identified as a Honda Civic, and impounded it for forensic processing.

During the investigation at the apartment complex, a man matching the suspect seen in the footage approached officers. He was identified as 34-year-old Patrick Rudolph.

Rudolph was taken into custody and charged with hit and run resulting in serious injury or death, reckless driving, and driving with a suspended license. He was transported to the Gwinnett County Jail.

Police said the investigation remains active and additional charges may be filed.
