SOUTH FULTON, Ga. — Police are investigating a fatal shooting that left a 32-year-old man dead and are asking for the public’s help in locating a person of interest.

Officers with the City of South Fulton Police Department responded around 4:30 p.m. on April 7, 2026, to a report of a shooting near the 7000 building of Waycrest Drive.

When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive male, later identified as Charlie Brown, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Preliminary findings indicate Brown had been involved in an argument with a woman identified as Veronica Johnson prior to the shooting. Investigators say Brown was seen walking away from the dispute when Johnson and an unidentified male followed him. Moments later, Brown was shot.

Detectives are actively working the case and are seeking to locate Johnson for questioning, as well as identify the unknown male seen with her.
